Flyer SIMIN :

In the holidays , I went for a short holiday to the cruise. Whenever people heard the word "cruise" , they will think of titanium . BUT IT WASNT SCARY LIKE WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT TITANIUM! It was so fun! And in the cruise , our parents left me and my cousins alone :( But because of this I learnt how to be more RESPONSIBLE AND EVEN TAKE CARE OF MY SIBLINGS ! My parents was so PROUD of me after this trip :)) THIS IS THE BEST HOLIDAY EVER!!!!!

AWESOME MINGYI:

For my December holidays, I went to China Si Chuan. The food there was very oily and spicy and I could not get used to their food as there are very less meat served every meal. However the scenery at 九寨沟 was beautiful. The water is very clear and furthermore, it is not man-made but natural! There were also majestic waterfalls.😄😄😄Also, as it was winter time and snowing heavily, the mountains were all covered with snow.

EMO YIHJIE :

For the first half of the holidays there were cca sessions every Tuesday and Friday. I didn't like them very much. Fortunately, it ended during mid November. During the holidays, I did not visit any interesting places or go overseas. Every holiday day was almost the same. I spent most of the time playing and as I approached the end of the holidays, I realised I did not accomplish or learn anything much. Even my homework was not done. I felt very nervous and did lots of last minute work. I realised I did not spend my holidays well. I hope that during the year end holiday this year, I will be able to learn or do something interesting.

WEIRDO WENQING :

HOLIDAYS, I LOVE THEM. I had the best ever December holiday last year. Our family went to Jiu Zhai Gou, a beautiful place in china known for its awesome nature.

Jiu Zhai gou is known for its many multi-level waterfalls, colorful lakes, and snow-capped peaks. Its elevation ranges from 2,000 to 4,500 metres (6,600 to 14,800 ft).

We walked on for hours, looking at different natural features. Oohs and ahs were heard everywhere. The water in the lake is as clear as glass, enabling us to look at the fishes swimming.

And there was the famous Pearl Shoal Waterfall, gently sloping area of active calcareous tufa deposition covered in a thin sheet of flowing water. It empties into the famous Pearl Waterfalls, where the shoal drops 28 m in a 310 m wide broad curtain of water. A scene of the television adaptation of Journey to the West was filmed there! :D(and yes I memorised all these information, i just love nature haha)

We also visited the cute pandas in su zhou. There are at least 30 adult pandas in that area. The baby pandas are sooo cute. All the tourist crowded around them and can't stop taking pictures. We watched as they were fed, cleaned. They're especially cute when they are sleeping!

My holidays were well spent, going through CCA training, facil trainings and rushing through homework, and going out with friends and relatives. This is the most meaningful holiday ever!

CRAZY EUGENE :

During my holidays I went to Malaysia. I presume everyone knows where is that and it isn't really amazing or anything as I have went there over a million times. I went there with my 4 cousins and their families. Unfortunately my parents could not go as they had to attend to their work lifes!
I accompanied my cousins to a place called kidszania in Malaysia Kuala Lumpur. It was a place where u could pose on different jobs and we could play as a pilot, firefighters and many more! I find that it was really fun as we could try out different jobs to see which one we like next time when we were older, we could choose our favorite jobs!
Other than that we spent most of our days shopping in the mega mall. That was one of the first times I bought around 4 clothes and 2 pants in a day! I was really lazy as I hate shopping but I had to buy clothes for Chinese New Year(CNY)!
In the end, it was all over and we had a great amount of fun! It was a 8 day trip and it wasn't far from Singapore...all in all it was my first time without my parents out of Singapore and I had real fun!

Photo Challenge :))

                                                          School Spirit:)

From the moment we step into our new secondary school , we felt scared , nervous and always wonder if we would ever make any friends in our new school , we even wanted to go back to primary school with your primary school friends. But the moment I step into RV , I knew I had chosen the right school. All the seniors were were welcoming us into the school with a smile and some of them even greeted me good morning :)) After that I really have a very nice orientation , I felt the RV spirit in the orientation, from how the facil cared about us when we were sick , and accompany us until we were feeling better , making them unable to join the rest of the class to play. We were really happy to be in this school. WE LOVE RV :)))

                                                             Happiness

Happiness is when you get to be with your class and go crazy with them , cry with them , talk crap with them and encourage them. Times past really fast, as if orientation were yesterday. We have all grown up and change from 1Daring to 2 Dauntless XP.  We will always treasure the memories we have and WE WILL FOREVER BE 1DARING'13 AND 2DAUNTLESS'14 !!

                                                                 Fear
Fear is when u stand alone. When no one is there for you , to comfort you when you were sad , to encourage you. You always have time when you were alone  , and that feeling of being alone wasn't nice...  SO TREASURE YOUR FRIENDS:)

                                                                    Life

Poverty in Singapore

In Singapore, it is highly unlikely that you will find beggars lining the streets or see starving children walking the pavements, scrounging for food.

Families that experience poverty , usually their children are often not able to do better than their parents due to lack of access to knowledge and educational support. For example, the child would quit school to work and supplement the family’s income, simply trying to put food on the table.

And begging in Singapore is illegal ,  so they are often found selling packets of tissues outside food centres. Or spending the night on benches near their jobs to save the transport fare home. Or collecting empty soft drink can from trash bins.

In Singapore , the poverty rate is 28% last year .  And to be out of the poverty class , the family need to have an income of at least above $1500.
